TRIBUTE TO COM. UMRAO MAL PUROHIT JI ON HIS 2ND DEATH ANNIVERSARY (01-03-1928 to 27.02.2014)
Today we remember our beloved leader Comrade Umrao Mal Purohit who left us for heavenly abode on 27.02.2014. On 27.02.2014 great leader of trade union movement who showed path of light to working class of India particularly railwaymen left us leaving behind great legacy of him to follow. Today we stand upright and keep our head high in the memory of our great leader Com. Umrao Mal Purohit. Com. Umrao Mal Purohit led us from the front and gave working class many moments of rejoice be it bonus for railwaymen or index based dearness allowance to all central government employees of India. He led all the Central Government employees of India in the capacity of Secretary, Staff Side of the National Council, Joint Consultative Machinery and brought laurels in the form of innumerable great achievements for the Railwaymen, including 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Central Pay Commissions.
Today, AIRF and its affiliates remembered Com. Umrao Mal Purohit Ji all across Indian Railways. Railwaymen assembled at their branches and paid tribute to their leader.
Com. Shiva Gopal Mishra General Secretary/All India Railwaymen’s Federation paid homage to Com. Umrao Mal Purohit at Gonda, Faizabad. Com. Shiva Gopal Mishra lauded the contributions of Com. Umrao Mal Purohit in trade union movements. He urged the Railwaymen to follow the principles laid down by late comrade. Remembering Com. Umrao Mal Purohit, Com Shiva Gopal Mishra acknowledged his contribution in ratifying Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining in ILO Conventions No. 87 and No. 98 respectively.
All India Railwaymen Federation pledge to follow his footsteps to raise Red Flag to the highest peak of strong Trade Union Movement.
