Sub: Observance of the “International Women’s Day” – 8th March, 2020

As you are aware that; “International Women’s Day” – 8th March is a momentous day for the Women Transport Workers across the globe. On this day, we celebrate Women Transport Workers’ fighting to change transport globally for the benefit of all workers. The issues women are fighting for – “Equality, Rights, Safety, Democracy – affect every Transport Worker”. Women’s rights are not separate to Workers’ Rights. They are at the heart of the International Labour Movement.

Every year; “International Women’s Day” – 8th March is observed by the ITF and its affiliates globally. Accordingly, it has been decided by the AIRF to observe “International Women’s Day”, with the theme – “An Equal World is An Enabled World”, on 8th March, 2020 all over the Indian Railways.

All the affiliates of AIRF are requested to observe “International Women’s Day” on 8th March, 2020, with the theme – “An Equal World is An Enabled World”, in a befitting manner, and send reports, along with photographs, to AIRF Office, so as to enable us to transmit the same to the ITF.
