Press release of AIRF on the Rail Budget 2016-17
Sh. Suresh Prabhu Hon’ble Minister for Railways presented Rail Budget 2016-17 in parliament on 25.02.2016. Railway Budget is presented before General Budget which is to be presented on 29.02.2016. Commenting upon Rail Budget for 2016-17 presented by Hon’ble Minster for Railway in the Parliament today the General Secretary All India Railwaymen’s Federation Shri Shiva Gopal Mishra said that whatever new announcement has been made to improve upon the facilities for the rail-users that include introduction of Antoydaya Superfast Train for unreserved passengers, additional Deen Dayal Upadhyay coaches for unreserved passengers, facilities of mobile charging in general coaches etc. are praiseworthy. However there is no clear roadmap about regulating the income of the Railway and it appears that a lot of things have been left for Corporate.
He further said that there is no any provision or announcement about improvement in socio-economic condition and working condition of the railway employees who are running this huge organization even by endangering their lives in all odd and climatic condition round the clock, which is disappointing and unfortunate and may generate sense of discontentment amongst them.
